10 years of recommerce.ch - A pioneer's journey to a greener world

Our journey started 10 years ago with a simple idea:

A decade later, half a million devices have found a new home thanks to us and especially thanks to your help.

Since we started, the world in the second-hand mobile phone market has also changed. Like cars, it is now more common than ever to buy your new mobile phone, laptop, smartwatch or tablet second-hand. The experiences that our customers have had with us show that our high quality standards - putting the devices through their paces professionally - have strengthened their trust.

Quality at a favourable price and even with a guarantee is convincing. Even though the demand for second-hand mobile phones has increased in recent years, our mission is far from being fulfilled. We remain committed to making the world a more sustainable place - that is our promise!

We believe in a digital and mobile future - but it has to be sustainable.

We are committed to being technologically up-to-date, but in a way that does not harm our environment. In recent years, through our work and your help, we have made an important contribution to the environment, saving more than 30,000 tonnes of CO2 and 640 million litres of water. And we are only at the beginning. With you, we can continue to protect our environment.

With a strong and committed team for success

What started with 4 employees has grown to over 50 people today. Day in, day out, our hard-working employees are at work:

• tracking down used mobile phones,
• checking them and getting them going again,
• repairing mobile phones and making them work again in the familiar way,
• packing your (new) mobile phone safely and sending it to you,
• answering your questions by e-mail and phone,
• to issue, book and settle invoices and to issue payment orders for our wages,
• compiling exciting statistics to identify areas for improvement,
• sprucing up the website to make your buying experience even better,
• and finally, to think ahead so that we can continue to exist for a long time to come.

Where is our journey heading?

We believe in a sustainable, digital future. That's why we rely on second-hand mobile phones. Why? It's simple: because it's already normal for cars! In this way, we are creating a circular economy that offers our customers the opportunity to sell their no longer needed device and get a smartphone that is more environmentally friendly.
We will continue to work on technical innovations to make trading in and repairing mobile devices more and more attractive with simple and intelligent software and hardware solutions.
And by the way, we were able to make our contribution to the development of the rephone, the first CO2 neutral mobile phone "Made in Germany".
